Normally, people expect a stand only from the side of one party. But why should the public do all this?
The issue here was never about which party you belong to. The issue here was the students’ protest.
The students held a peaceful march, but the lathi-charge on them was wrong. The atrocities committed against them, especially against the girls, were also wrong. There is no justification for that.
In this situation, the opposition party supported the students and stood by them. And they were supposed to do that. That is their role.
But because of that, I feel this entire issue became a political stunt.
The most important thing here is that even the people in the government party knew in their hearts that the kids were right, or that an injustice was being done to them. So there was no need to think about which party we belong to before speaking up on this.
Because once again I am saying the same thing – this was not about a party. Here you could have voiced your opinion.
We see it every day. When it’s someone’s birthday in each other’s parties, or when someone takes up a new position, you post photos of people from the opposition party and wish them.
In the same way, to support the students, you probably didn’t need to see which opposition party is supporting them. You could have just supported the students.
Here again, if everyone had focused only and only on the students, without using any political stunt, then this time the entire country would have come together and focused on one issue.
In my opinion, the political stunt was not done by just one side. It was done by both sides.
This is my opinion as a common citizen.
